Story:
The prince (later Emperor Buretsu) and Hegurino Shibi fight over Kagehime, a shrine maiden and daughter of the powerful Monobe family. Kagehime is in love with Shibi, and the prince murders Shibi out of jealousy. By the time Kagehime had run to her lover Shibi, it was too late.
This piece is inspired by and based on the tragic poems of Hime from the classical Japanese literature, Chronicles of Japan, and portrays Kagehime’s life, who pursued love and lived with no fear of death.
